He spoke (the holy Gaon Rabbi Shimon of Zhelichov, may the memory of the righteous be blessed) about the greatness of the Gaon Malbim [of blessed memory] and his commentaries, and said: The Malbim’s commentary on Ezekiel 40-46 regarding the structure of the future Temple was certainly written with Divine inspiration [Ruach HaKodesh] that rested upon him while writing it. Regarding the commentary on Song of Songs, our Rabbi said it is clear that this was one of King Solomon’s [peace be upon him] intended meanings in Song of Songs. He also related that our Rabbi the Malbim [of blessed memory] once visited Sadigora to see the holy Rabbi Abraham Jacob [may his merit protect us], son of our holy Rabbi of Ruzhin [may his merit protect us]. When leaving, the holy Rabbi Abraham Jacob [of blessed memory] accompanied the Malbim to the courtyard gate, which amazed onlookers as this had never been seen before in Sadigora.
