English Translation
I will relate what I heard from Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Schenfeld, who was told by the Gaon [great Torah scholar] author of “Darchei Teshuva,” who heard from the holy mouth of the holy Gaon, author of “Divrei Chaim” of Sanz [may his holy merit protect us], who said about the Gaon Malbim [may the memory of the righteous be for a blessing], that all his sermons and all his intentions were purely for the sake of Heaven.

אוֹדִיעַ מַה שֶּׁשָּׁמַעְתִּי מִפִּי הָרַב יִצְחָק אַיְיזִיק שֶׁעהְנְפֶעלְד, שֶׁסִּפֵּר לוֹ הַגָּאוֹן בַּעַל “דַּרְכֵי תְּשׁוּבָה” אֵיךְ שֶׁשָּׁמַע מִפִּי קָדְשׁוֹ שֶׁל הַגָּה”ק בַּעַל “דִּבְרֵי חַיִּים” מִצַּאנְז זי”ע, שֶׁאָמַר עַל הַגָּאוֹן מַלְבִּי”ם זצ”ל, שֶׁכָּל דְּרָשׁוֹתָיו וְכָל כַּוָּנָתוֹ הָיוּ לְשֵׁם שָׁמַיִם.
